This is a preliminary sketch that goes goth. The colors could be dark or light, bright or subdued. This is to say Gothic can be chantilly white, light as a wedding cake or red brick volcanic with soot grey highlights topped with wet blue black slate, moss and overgrown with vines dead or alive.
Old architecture can be four seasons at the same time, as a tree with moss on its north face.
Gothic architecture lends itself to these mood swings due to its myriad of surfaces and facets.
Each side of this piece could represent a season, each side could have depictions of the appropriate statues or saints and the representative foliage.
